The Alcantara Gorges represent one of the natural wonders of Sicily. This spectacular canyon was created by lava flows from Etna that cooled over millennia, forming high walls and sculpting the bed of the Alcantara river. The result is a unique scenario, with crystal clear waters flowing between the suggestive basalt walls. The gorges offer the opportunity to hike, swim in the cool river waters and enjoy the wild beauty of this natural creation. An unforgettable experience that combines adventure and geological wonder.
Arrival at Catania airport, where you will find one of our staff to welcome you. Transfer to the hotel (from our resort selection) in the province of Catania.
Relax in the hotel, where you can enjoy the swimming pool and all the facilities of the facility.
Welcome dinner.
Buffet breakfast in the hotel. 9.30am our guide will accompany you to discover Taormina, with a visit to the Greek/Roman Theatre, the historic center and the beautiful view from the Duomo square.
Free time for lunch and your shopping. In the afternoon the tour continues with a visit to Borgo Savoca, famous for being one of the main locations of the film The Godfather.
Dinner at an external restaurant.
Buffet breakfast in the hotel. 9.30am departure for the 4x4 tour of Etna.
The tour includes a visit to the lava flows on the northern side of Etna, with a bit of trekking, arriving at an altitude of 2000 metres, Piano Provenzana, we will continue with special off-road vehicles up to 2840 metres, between the lava flows and the volcanic sand, we will reach the Pizzi Deneri volcanological observatory. From here you will begin a climb on foot of about 300 meters until you reach a panoramic point at a height of 2900 metres. You can admire the total craters up close and enjoy the view from above.
Descending from Etna, we will stop in one of the wine cellars in the area, where you can visit the vineyard and taste the best Etna wines, accompanied by Sicilian dishes.
* For our Muslim friends, the tour includes a visit to a farmhouse/dairy, where you can taste hot ricotta and traditional Sicilian cheeses.
The tour continues with a visit to the Alcantara Gorges, a natural canyon in the lava rock carved by the Alcantara river over the centuries.

9.30 am, our drivers will take you to the port of Riposto where your boat will be waiting for you (sailing or motor, based on your choices). A tour on the crystal clear waters of the Ionian Sea, where you can admire the coast up to Taormina. During the tour there will be several stops for a swim. Lunch will be served on board, accompanied by Sicilian wines and non-alcoholic drinks.
Return to the port at sunset and dinner at the property.

In the afternoon our staff will take you to discover Catania and its historic center.
You will visit Piazza del Duomo, the Basilica of Sant'Agata and the Benedictine convent, continuing along the main street, Via Etnea: the pulsating center of the city.
To finish, a splendid dinner based on fish and Sicilian delicacies.
