Ragusa Ibla is the historic center of the municipality of Ragusa, located in the south-eastern area of Sicily, south of the Iblei Mountains. The city is dominated by one of the most evocative scenarios of Sicilian Baroque: the Cathedral of San Giorgio which has a picturesque façade characterized by two groups of three columns and baroque statues and decorations.

Along the streets of the historic center you can admire several noble palaces in Baroque style: Palazzo La Rocca, Palazzo Sortino-Trono, Palazzo Cosentini and Palazzo Cancelleria. In the streets of the center we find the Church of Santissime Anime del Purgatorio dominated by a staircase that makes it more slender, in Byzantine style; the Church of Santa Maria dell'Idria with its small octagonal dome, enriched with majolica decorated with typical Sicilian colours; the Church of Santa Maria delle Scale dating back to the Byzantine era was, following the earthquake, enlarged in Baroque style and you can admire one of the most beautiful and evocative views of Ragusa Ibla.
